A whimsical exploration of fantasy and reality through bold production design and vibrant art direction. Drawing inspiration from films like The Mask and Requiem for a Dream, this short film embraces a theatrical, surreal aesthetic grounded in an intimate character study.
The visual identity centers on a carefully curated color palette of purples, greens, and warm golds that transform a retro 1970s apartment into a dreamlike world. Strategic lighting design from disco ball reflections to atmospheric haze creates an eerie yet romantic energy that builds throughout the piece. Every element, from the vintage set dressing to the Muffin Man's bold aesthetic, contributes to a cohesive vision that blurs the line between the mundane and the magical.
This project showcases my approach to production design as a storytelling tool, where color, lighting, and environment work together to transport the audience into the unique dream world of our protagonist.
